venting time......

i haven't been on this thing for a long time but i must vent now!!!!.....

deer park apple experience

so i went to buy a couple items for the church at the new deer park apple store. i presented my church tax exempt form like i always do and then she asked for a church credit card. and i was like "ummm... i don't have one and that the church doesn't have one and that in the past 4 some years i've NEVER been asked to use a church credit card." and she told me that i had to have one to purchase. i told her we normally go to the woodfield apple store and they've never asked me for a church payment. she got kinda annoyed and said there's some inconsistencies and she needs to talk to her business consultant.

so she comes back out and she says that she'll do it "THIS TIME" and that they will "EAT THE COST". and i was like "what the?". first off, i didn't want i to be a "THIS TIME" kinda deal b/c we buy stuff from apple a lot and i wanted to make sure that we didn't run into these problems in the future. secondly, to say "they will eat the cost" to me was not right.... like she was doing me a favor or something. i don't think the apple store has to pay for the tax that churches and non-profit organizations don't pay. and to say something that is NOT TRUTH was wrong. i also asked if she was an manager and i she said "yes". that blew me away b/c she didn't have a very personable attitude. every time i've gone to apple they are ALWAYS so NICE and HELPFUL. not this manager!

she forgot to make a copy of the tax form so she went in back and then came back out. i really wanted to have a good working relationship with this store b/c it's closer to me and once again we buy from apple all the time. so i made it a point to let her know that i wanted to have a good working relationship going forward and that i hope she understood where i was coming from b/c we've never had to do this in the past 4 years. she responded with "i understand but i'm just making sure we're abiding by the illinois tax law." she was NOT friendly at all and really didn't seem like she cared about future business with me or the church. it's like she as just annoyed that we didn't have to pay a few bucks for tax on a couple items. unbelievable! i'm still to ticked off that someone who is a manager has NO CLUE ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE and RELATIONS.

GLDI - california trip

our trip and the worship times in california were simply incredible.
God is truly amazing. that's all i can say... simply amazing.

it's nice to be at home but i miss the good friends we made at GLDI.

here's a few pics for now, but i'm beat. good night.

the times of worship were incredible. i've never experienced God's power moving
so strong and so intense. each night it got stronger and more powerful. i was in awe.

get up & do something

so lately i've been thinking a lot about how much time i spend watching tv,
laying in bed or just sitting in an idle state. there's definitely a time to "rest",
but sometimes i use "rest" as an excuse and i over extend my stay and it
becomes something called "laziness".

i have 3 huge events this summer and i worry b/c i have the tendency to "rest"
too long after big events. but there is no option to fall into this vicious cycle of
laziness. so i've been trying to motivate my self with this phrase and feel free
to use it when you don't feel like getting up off the couch or your bed:

"get up & DO something"!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"teach us to number our days aright that we may gain a heart of wisdom."
-psalm 90:12
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"be very careful, then, how you live - not as unwise but as wise, making the
most of every opportunity, bc the days are evil." -ephesians 5:15-16
